La maison du rhum=The house of rum


A while ago I visited a small rum factory. They use sugarcane juice and not molasses (which is a by-product of the sugarcane when manufacturing sugar), therefore giving a rum of much better quality.

The 1st picture is the 18th step, the evaporation, the angel's share as they call it, so cute. :) .

The 2nd picture are barrels of 7 years old rum. Apparently a bottle of that is worth as much as a bottle champagne...

The 3rd on is a bottle of the vanilla rum with a real vanilla bean inside (cultivated by the factory itself). Ok the bottle is a bit empty... :p . There is also coffee rum, spice rum and of course white rum..
